Infinite is kinda' countable.

So, the Americans are spending again. But, here's the catch - there has been no increase in their paycheck. What does it all mean then? Is the economy doing better or people are just plain crazy. Not sure, but there are quite few possible things, at least what I racked my brain to come up with:

  • Our savings rate is going down
  • The impact of sample sale websites, such as, Gilt, RueLaLa, HauteLook, et al
  • The impact of groupon, living social, coupons, and what have you
  • The companies offering steep discounts due to expected stablization of dollar
Is this all good? It's hard to say either ways because its important for consumer spending to increase to show a boost in the economic confidence, because optimism drives the market in an upbeat manner. So, as an investor, let's call him Mr Frown, I could take this news as a concern because this could mean that there aren't enough savings, which could cause another consumer debt crisis. But, then there is another investor, let's call him Mr. Happy, who would say that people are spending cash as credit card business has tightened up. Which means that they are truly spending without taking on any debt.

You decide!

Which does not bring me to the Infinity Dress. You have heard about it, right? The dress that you could wear a few hundred different ways, technically not infinite, but you get the gist. So, when Gilt posted a sample sale for the infinity dress by Tart, I jumped on the opportunity to share with you a few different ways you could rock this truly flexible crazy-ass figure flattering dress. Sit back, see and then come up with your own version of wearing this dress. Now, that's what I call fun! Brain exercise!

And, go ahead, get yourself one if you are motivated. Its on sale for $99 at Gilt!

Love ya~!

Oh, and enjoying the snow (if you are in the East coast area) in October!! Yummm

MMMMMM Mistake

Today my son ate m/m, by mistake. I screamed, flailed my hands in mid air, ran to my son, put my finger in his mouth to extricate the remaining chocolate candy, and then my baby cry. It made me feel bad and responsible. Was I not good at cleaning the house? Why did I not notice it before he did? Am I not a good mother? I almost cried, but then Kartik gently hugged me and told me to not be so hard on myself. Thank God it was only m&m, he reminded me, and with that, my anxiety subsided a little.

And then.

And, then I started thinking. And, oh lordy, the thoughts train really stormed my brain mind. And, then a few minutes later it dawned on me. Wait for it - yes, my a-ha! moment. So, it dawned on me that I would have a million such silly and worrisome moments, and I possibly could not drive myself insane with each situation. Or else, I would truly end up being a bad mom. I need to learn how to take such inadvertent situations in my stride, think positive and continue doing my best. Because the minute I question my capabilities as a mother, I am allowing my son's well being to be questioned as well. And, I would never ever let that happen. Not a chance darling!

So then.

So, then when something like this happens again (although I would really not like anything such to happen), I promise to stay calm, make sure my son is doing fine, don't jump to conclusions and stop being judgmental on myself. Yeah, that's the key.

Had any such situations you would like to share? Maybe I can be bit more wise on such things!

Men Men Men...Manly Man Part Dos

Let's see how the markets are doing and what we can expect going forward.

So, technology helped boost the markets today, and DOW was at its highest since August. Since Eurozone is still waiting for some clarification on its financial standing, this news is not curtailing the market's movement. The holiday season is upon us, well almost, and we shall closely  monitor the consumer industry which will not only drive the market sentiments but economic sentiments as well. So, let's see what direction we headed in. I am hopeful because I feel that US is gaining growth numbers - slowly but surely.

And, now we are back to men. As in men fashion!

The spring 2012 menswear so far has been an interesting  mix of cuts, colors and coats. Although there is not much in terms of varieties, I mean its all about pants, shirts, pants rolled up into shorts, sweaters, coats, pants, but still there is ample style to celebrate and to look forward to. One trend that I noticed (like with women's fashion) was cropped tops that, according to me, sat a bit awkwardly on the torso. Honestly, not a big fan, but I will share with you, nonetheless.

I can very well share a million images here, but that would be utterly silly. So, I will share with you top looks from my favorite designers. Howzzaat? With me?

Where have all the Sundays gone?

Seriously, where have they?

I tend to look them under dirty laundry, on the grocery lists, somewhere in between a million errands, and I just can't seem to find them.

Can you help me find my lost Sundays?

I am kinda sorta into photography. Kinda sorta big time.
I enjoy taking pictures. I especially love shooting people...with my kick-ass Canon and capturing that perfect moment of joy, happiness, laughter, silliness between them. Capturing that perfect moment of being human.

So, no surprise then that I read quite a few photo blogs. And one lifestyle photographer who has been making my heart melt with his pictures is Jose Villa. This genius shoots entirely in film, that is, he does not use the current digital camera technology, which does not allow him to edit and preview his shots. No sir. No mam. He does it the old fashioned way, and produces some really awe inspiring and jaw dropping images (sorry had to use this cliche because I couldn't think of anything else with a similar impact).

Now, I would share with you a bazillion of his images, but that would be silly because you could very well go to his website and peruse his pictures (and day dream a bit as well). So, I will share just a handful shots that really melt my heart into a mushy ball everytime I see them. Maybe they remind me of that perfect moment of being human.

One day, one fine day, I hope to be just as good (and dreamy) as him. Ah!

Soooo, which ones stole your breath away?
